This is one of my favorite times of the year, as the flowers begin to bloom, you can hear the crack of a bat at the ballpark, the birds are singing again and the trees and grass are turning a nice shade of green. As the weather warms so do the activities at the Lake of the Ozarks. Golf, Golf, Golf… the Lake offers 15 golf courses for you to choose from including a few of our favorites, Osage National, The Oaks and Season’s Ridge. These three beautiful golf courses offer a great adventure nestled in and around the water, both the lake and the Osage river.
The Lake of the Ozarks also offers three state parks for your enjoyment. Hiking and biking trails abound as well as plenty of nature. It is still a little early for swimming but the parks are still a great place to get back to nature and enjoy a picnic or a lazy day in the sun. Check out Ha Ha Tonka State Park and explore the castle ruins, walk down by the under ground spring and hike one of the many trails. Make sure you bring your hiking boots!
If you are a car enthusiast you won’t want to miss the 25th anniversary Magic Dragon Street Meet Nationals. You will be able to see around a thousand classic cars and trucks from a big block Chevy to a souped up Ford. I love old cars and the entire Lake Area is filled with American Graffiti cars all weekend long. You might even see me taking pictures during the show. I will be the tall guy in the Yankees cap with a few boys tagging along, one in a Cardinals cap, one in a Royals cap and the black sheep of the family in a Cubs cap. Join us May 3-5 for this great event.
You can also enjoy a great meal at one of our many waterfront restaurants. If you want a great view of the Lake along with some awesome food you need to check out one of the finest restaurants in Missouri, Baxter’s at the Lake. The view is incredible and the food is even better. The steak is great but my favorite is the Caribbean Jerk Chicken. They also have awesome onion straw things (you have to special order them, not on the menu and they are delicious!)
So plan your visit to the Lake of the Ozarks this Spring and enjoy the beauty of the Ozarks! And if you need a place to stay just give us a call and we will be glad to help you out, 1-877-284-0267 or just send us an e-mail at rentals@yourlakevacation.com
Have an awesome day!
Russell
